Board member for Clean Clothes Campaign / Schone Kleren Campagne

Note: this is a voluntary (unpaid) position.

Due to the departure of a board member, we are looking for a candidate with a broad organizational background for the board of the Clean Clothes Campaign / Clean Clothes Campaign. International experience is a plus, preferably gained at a non-profit or semi-profit organization.

The organisation

CCC / SKC Foundation is dedicated to improving working conditions and empowering workers in the global garment and sportswear industries. We do this by campaigning and lobbying for binding regulations for companies, and binding agreements between trade unions and clothing brands, of which the "Bangladesh Safety Accord" is an example.

The foundation has existed for almost 30 years and has a special structure: there is no hierarchy, decisions are made on the basis of consensus, and everyone has the same salary.

The organizational structure consists of three units: the International Office of the global CCC network, the SKC team, focused on the Netherlands, and Support (ICT, finance, HR, Office Management).

It employs 25 people, three of whom work from a Brussels office. The organizational budget is approximately three million euros. The global network includes more than 200 organizations and trade unions.

The unpaid board has decision-making powers in the areas of finance and personnel and, on other matters, follows the network's substantive and policy choices that are determined during the five-year global meetings.

The enthusiasm of the employees for their work and the commitment to the textile workers are great; the work is never finished. A challenge lies in controlling the workload.
